easiest anenome???

Hey,

I have a 55 Gallon with a percula/ocellaris clown and I would like an anenome. I have 4x65 PC's for a total of 260 watts of light.

What is the Easiest anenome (sp) that I could support in my system? When i mean easy, I mean easy. (just starting to get into corals)

Bubble tip anemones ( including rose bubble tip, and green bubble tip) are probably the easiest to keep. But, saying they're the easiest is deceiving, because even being the easiest, they are still somewhat difficult to maintain. Tell us a little more about your tank. How old has it been running, and stuff like that.

I have a 55 Gallon, coming up on one year. Currently a FOWLR that I am hoping to turn REEF. I have 1 Percula/Ocellaris Clown, 2 Green Chromis, and various inverts. 4x65 PC's (260 watts)

PH: 8.3
Temp: 80 F

Just making sure your tank was more on the mature side. It's usually better to add an anemone before you start adding corals. With their tendency to move about, if you get one, I would allow it to settle in a while before you add any corals. Make sure it likes where it is and hopefully won't move.

theres anemones easier to keep than the bta but you clown probably wouldn't host in them..........

The easiest anemone of all will even reproduce in your tank---aiptasia. ;)

That's a heck of an article.

For a non-natural clown anemone, the Atlantic Condylactis(pink tipped, Haitian pink tipped) and the rock/flower anemones are easy to keep. The odds are that the clownfish will not be interested in them though, but they are easy(and cheap :D)

i had a hatian anemone the clowns didnt like it, one day it stung me hurt really bad it paralized my finger for 20 minutes in a few weeks in climbed into a power head took him off and he climbed back into it and died.
