I was comparing my URI 36-inch VHO bulbs with 36-inch NOs and noticed the VHO bulbs were 1/2 inch longer. Anyone know the reason for the difference in length?

That is strange. My 48" URI actinics and 50/50's are the same as normal f40 tubes. I just compared them to my 48" black light as well and they are all the same.

Who long is your 36" URI? Maybe the other bulb is the strange one?

Nope. I replaced four 36" Coralife NOs with four 36" URI VHOs when I changed my lighting system last week. Actually, all the 36" URI VHOs were about 1/4 inch longer, not 1/2 inch like I wrote before. When I tried to use the same mounted sockets is when I noticed the size difference.
