Start with a standard 120G tank (4'X2'X2'). Suppose you want to build a wood stand which give 12" of clearence behind the tank (i.e. the stand would be 4'x3' in size). And that the tank would be placed at the front of the stand.

Would you place the legs in the usual corner location?

Place additional legs at the 2' depth location (giving a 4'x2' supported area for the tank)?

Or build two separate stands (one 4'x2' and the other 4'x1')?

Or do something else entierly?

it's up to you but i would put the legs under the tank and at the back end of the stand. i would make one big one. not quite sure what your situation is. but good luck with whatever your decide to do.:D
