Is Cheato that green threadlike algae that was passed out at the frag meeting? If that is the stuff, it grows like crazy in my tank, and outcompetes any algae growth. I've got it tucked away in the far corner of the tank and i am constantly triming it and tossing it away and giving it to my LFS. If any one wants any, let me know.

I live in the richmond district in SF.

That would be the stuff swingdaddy, and the fact that it grows like crazy is a quasi-good thing, because its sucking nutrients and phosphates (aka fertilizer) out of your water that would ordinarily get consumed and help grow the microalgae that no one seems to like. The reason I say this is a quasi-good reason is becaue if its growing like crazy means you have a lot of nutrients in your tank to make it grow :)
