Red Sea BerlinThe Turbo Classic XL is this a good Protein Skimmers for a 250 gal tank???

or what would you pick-up for a tank size 225 or bigger????

I think the Red Sea skimmer is a little small for that size tank(rated for 300 gallons). If you're planning a reef tank, I usually look for a skimmer that is rated for twice the size of the tank . So you'll need a skimmer that is rated for 500 gallons. If you're planning a FO tank, the Rea Sea is O.K. But if you ever want to add corals, it would be better if you already had the bigger skimmer rated for 500G and eliminate buying another skimmer.

Dont skimp on skimmers. They are pricey, but you will thank yourself later. Check out the needle wheels or beckets. They are getting great reviews. Euro Reefs and ASM's seem to be the most popular.

I run a becket skimmer and it works great but requires a very large pump.
