Ok, I have a 90g tank with around 20-25 gallons of water in my sump at any given point in time.

I'm going to buy an Aquazone ozonizer, but I don't know which one I should get.

What's the correct sized one for my tank? 50, 100 or 200 mg/hr? How much capacity do I really need to affect my approx 110 gal system?

I guess I'm going to opt for the Deluxe model with the ORP controller built in so that I don't nuke my tank with ozone. I'm assuming this is the right way to go.

Any opinions from the ozone gurus would be helpful and appreciated :D

Figure 5 - 10 mg/hr per 25 gallon. Your your tank the 50 should be fine. I run the 100 on my 180g.

Cheers

Cool, I was hoping the 50 would be enough for my tank.

Any opinions on the ORP controller? I'd rather spend less money, but then again, I'd rather not annihilate my tank with an ORP of 800 or something :D

I'm assuming the general concensus on the ORP control would be either use an ORP controller or don't run ozone at all.... am I right? :p

Hey Tim

I run one without an ORP controller, but I only use around 20mg/hr on a 180 gallons. I bought the 100 mg unit, so that I could still use it when I upgrade down the road.

I bought the one with the controller built in just because. I like being able to see what ORP is at although it's never been a problem.

Cool, thanks for the info guys...

I just found a 50 mg/hr Aquazone plus deluxe model brand new on ebay for around $260. So it has the built in ORP controller and it comes with the ORP probe and air-drier as well. Beats the online price of $325 I was finding everywhere :D So I went ahead and ordered it as it appears 50 mg/hr will be more than enough for my needs. I was going to upgrade to the 100 mg/hr model in the event I ever get a bigger tank, but since I found the deal on the 50mg/hr model on ebay, I couldn't pass it up :)

Thanks again for the quick replies. It always helps me make an informed decision prior to blowing my money

Now, I think you should divide the money that you just saved and send it to Mark and I.

:D

Got my new Aquazone from the guy on ebay. Cool stuff. I configured it for an ORP setpoint around 300 last night and within about 2 and 1/2 hours, it was hovering at about 278 set at only about 50% output. Water clarity has improved already. Cool stuff. Glad I got it
