I found this little guy when removing some valonia from some LR. He wasn't near anything significant, so I would guess he's safe, but is he?? Thanks! Brian.

for a positive id i think you`ll have to take a close in focus picture of the opening of the shell.

See the sticky thread, near the top of the forum thread listings, titled, "Need an identification...." It will detail the types of images I need for identification, particularly of snails.

Your animal has a shape reminiscent of some whelks, but without an image of the shell aperture, I can't really identify it further.
