does anyone have any luck with bare bottom reef tanks. And if so I have heard of a product that is called somthing like starfiber board to put on the bottom of the tank if anyone has any ideas or links I would really appreciate it, I am setting up a new 65 g sps tank and turnning the 125 to a FOWLR

Do a search here on RC. This is one of the most popular topics on RC right now, and you will find a wealth of info regarding BB tanks.

Many people use the starboard cutting board and also other brands too. It is not necessary to have the starboard to have a successful BB tank. That is a bottom material for aesthetics.

ps, I've been happy with my BB setup, which is now been BB for 13 years.

The product is called Starboard. Here's the link, get a cup of coffee before you even bother to open it, lunch might be nice also. You'll see what I mean. http://archive.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=223301&highlight=starboard
