Is Pavona considered an sps? Where may I find a more in depth classification of sps?

You can't - its an arbitrary designation with no real meaning. Most aquarists would call Pavona an SPS coral. Most people who work with corals would look at you wondering what on earth that means.

the second question would be....you won't. There is a classification scheme of polyp sizes, but SPS and LPS ain't part of it.
