overdose on Garlic or Selcon?

Can you overdose with Garlic or Selcon when soaking food with either or both?

i was soaking with both in the beginning 6 months time, got cyano
and hair algae, soaking everyday, when i stop and only
soak once a week all algae went away in 3 weeks uumm
