feather duster question

i have a feather duster that i have had for about 8 months and it has been attached to the same rock for about 6 months. last night the feather part of it came off and was floating in the tank. is it true that they grow them back and is that how they grow and get bigger. i had one do that before and it died. any help would be appreciated.

I don't know that this is the best forum for this question, but I'll give you an answer anyway.

Yes feathers can grow back their "crowns" after they lose them. More often than not losing their crowns is a sign of stress. Also many times the crowns do not grow back as fully as they were originally.
