Hermit Crab ID

Dr. Ron,

Could you please ID this hermit crab for me? I can't seem to find anything on this type of hermit crab with aqua-green claws and orange legs. I have seen blue leg and red leg hermits, but nothing like this. I only have a few hermit crabs in the tank, but this one seems extremely aggresive towards the snails.

Hi Richard,

Crabs, in general, and hermit crabs, in particular, are difficult to identify, and with the image you have posted, I am afraid I can't get there from here. Sorry. :(

Just keep a close eye on him. If he damages anything you don't want, to the fuge!
