I've got some bits of plywood still visible on a canopy i'm making (the rest is covered with arborite) and I'd like to moisture seal them against the humidity in there. The wood will be sitting about 2" above the water line and there shouldn't be much water hitting it ever.

I'm thinking about sealing it with a fast dry lacquer I use for sealing stained wood. It's a "Fast Dry Lacquer Spray Paint" for wood and metal. Is this stuff likely to leech anything after it's cured for a week or so?

Hazard info says it contains acetone, toluene, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate and/or xylene. It's Walmart branded product so this might be a generic hazard sheet for all their spray paints.

After it is cured, it should be fine. :)
