Hello Randy,

1st off I hope your enjoying your vacation.

Now for the question:

When you tested the calcium additive for your 2 part dosing. Was there a particular reason you used Dowflake rather than Peladow?

From white papers I've read on the web, they appear to be the same other than the Peladow is 90% calcium chloride -vs- 77% for the Flake?

i'm sure the reason was because the Dowflake was available most any place as a means of ice/snow removal and was more readily available to reefers. the availableness of it was what brought about Randy's testing of it's quality in the reef in the first place.

Yes, KC is exactly right. I picked it because it is what I found at Home Depot. :D

My understanding is that Peladow is likely to be equally suitable, although it has less water in it, so use about 20% less material to make the recipes.
