Is pickling lime used for kalk or is it kalk?

Kalk, as used here, is the Amercian reef aquarists abbreviation for the german word kalkwasser, that is the equivalent of the english word limewater.

Limewater is made when lime (calcium hydroxide) or quickllime (calcium oxide) are dissolved in water.
