anybody know the average grain size of yardright play sand?

I'm not sure of the particle size distribution exactly. I do know it's a bit larger (read this as too small a proportion of the smaller grains) than would be ideal for a deep sand bed. A lot of people do use it with success, however, myself included.

in reference to Dr. Shimek's pie chart, which portion would this cover? it appears pretty fine to me, but you're saying it's not 1/8th to 1/16 mm, maybe 1/8th to 1/4 mm then?
