2 days ago tests showed

Mg=1140
Ca=360
Kh=6.8
pH=8.1 rising to 8.35

Until 2 days ago I was dosing kalk via a stirrer during the night a total of 2l between midnight and 5am... I had a slight mishap when my topoff system decided to fill my sump with RO water which brought my SG down to 1.021, I've put salt in my RO resevoir and letting the SG rise via topoff system... I have turned off the kalk stirrer so I can address the Mg/Ca/KH problem

Whats the best way to get the figures back to desirable levels, I have dosed Kent Tech M for the past 2 days ( 1 dose of 150mls per day for 2 days to a 570l tank ), still the Mg reads 1140..

Whats the next step..

( I have a Co2 reactor, bought today, connected, but not running, aswell as the kalk stirrer )
Should I have the Co2 reactor & kalk stirrer running

Any help is gratefully received

It takes a lot of magnesium supplement toraise the magneisum level. How much did you add?

I'd restart the limewater drip. If you think you also need the CaCO3/CO2 reactor to meet demand, then I'd start it too.

thanks for your reply Randy...

So far I've added 300mls of Kent Tech M, I'll add the rest of the bottle today, a further 200 mls.

Is Kent Tech M the best way to add magnessium.

How much would you expect me to have to add to raise the Mg up to 1300..

Thanks

I don't know that tech M is any better than other commercial supplements, but it is a fine way to go.

Tech M is 70,000 ppm magnesium:
http://www.kentmarine.com/html/tm.html

So to raise 500 L by 150 ppm will require 1.1 L of Tech M (150/70,000 * 500 L).
