help with vho endcaps

is there any diff between a vho endcap and a endcap from a regular fixture? I was curious if i could just go to home depot and get some flourescent end caps if they will work with vhos? Im trying to mount 4 vhos in my canopy and wasnt sure what kind of endcaps i need any help would be great my email is cusweatin@aol.com thanks a bunch

the difference being...endcaps for your reef...are water resistant. the contacts will not corrode. the end caps seal around the bulb, and all the metal components of the endcap stay rust free.

is this the only diff in the 2?i have an acrylic tank so the tank is not completely open on the top and the canopy is about 10inches high so would it be ok to use the regular ones or just buy the vho style

well they sell vho endcaps...that are not water resistant. where are you thinking about buying them from?
