Hi,
I'm trying to do a DIY sump for a 55-gallon AGA reef tank. The problem that I'm having is that the AGA stand is pretty narrow inside, with a max wide inside the cabinet of 10 1/4". I'd originally planned to use a small glass tank for a sump, but these tanks seem to be about 10 1/2" wide with the framing on the outside of the glass.
I think I've been to every Home Depot, Staples, etc. store to look for a plastic bucket or tank, but I'm stuck. Everything is either too wide, or if it's narrow enough it's not nearly long enough to be useful. I'm going to be using a EuroReef skimmer that needs 9" of width, so if anyone has any specific ideas of what to use for a sump that is 10" wide by 20-24" long, please let me know. I'm trying very hard not to have buy a new acrylic sump box that's going to cost me $140 or so!
Thanks,
Andrew
