LFS told me I need to be keeping my calcium levels between 450-500? I thought 500 sounded a little high, were they correct and have I been keeping to low of readinge this whole time? My calcium right now is 450. Can anyone give me some guidance on this topic?

All of the books I've read (Tullock and Borneman) and everything I've read here on RC says the target range is 400 to 450. I'd say yours is sitting right where you want it to be.

450 is great!

It shouldn't hurt anything if it goes to 500, but 450 is ideal.

I would aim for 380 to 450. Above doesn't really help IMO, and costs more in suppliments.

okay I appreciate the help, they must want me to buy additives from them!

500 is normally what SPS and Clam dominated tanks like to be around to increase growth. 450 is optimal for the average reef IMO.

I think your LFS said 450-500 so you wouldn't fall under 450.
