Dosing/adding water

Hello Dr. Ron, I have a salt water setup, and I was wondering what is the best way of adding water due to evaporation. I have two 250 wat MHs so I run with no top. Also what should I be adding plain RODI water, kalk, ?.

Limewater (kalkwasser) is a fine thing to add. I add it as my only means of supplementing calcium and alkalinity.

However, depending on what other method(s) you use, it may not be necessary.

You also may not need, and may not even be able to handle full strength limewater to top off for all evaporation if the calcium and alkalinity demand is not on the high end.
