I have searched for hours, and I cannot find a decent DIY canopy for my 90 gallon. I need plans for a canopy which will house my PFO 2X250 MH lights and 2 110 watt VHO actinics. Can anyone post some plans/pics or hopefully both?

I don't have any drawn up plans, but, what I did was to make a box out of 3/4" oak plywood with a lip on the inside to rest on the top of the tank. Add trim to cover up any ends and then cut the box in half length ways and use three hinges to reconnect.
When it sits on top of the tank, you tilt to top back and have full access to the insde of the tank.

I'll try to post photos of my 90G canopy that is currently being constructed. I didn't take any pics of the frame, but can take several angles showing the canopy after gluing the oak plywood. Be patient please, I'll try to get them posted by Wednesday.

Hay www.180gallontank.co great job. I am making a conopy for my 40 brd. I am planing to keep the rear of the canopy open. I am debating drilling the side for a 4" fan. What is your thoughts and where are the fans placed in your canopy?

There are pics of my DIY stand and canopy in my gallery. Somewhere out there is a thread describing how i built it, I can search around for it if there's any interest.

Here are a couple of pics of the canopy I built for my 90 gallon... not nearly as elaborate as some of the others posted here, but it was really simple to build. I'm going to be building a new one to house a set of 250 watt halides with spider reflectors & VHO actinics - need it to be a bit higher with better ventilation. Probably not the prettiest design, but it does the job...
