I am closing down my rose anemone tank to make room, so I need to sell off a few rose anemones I have. These rose anemones are super hardy because they are several generations from actual ocean specimens so used to tank conditions. Most have about a 4"-6" in diameter central disc. As with ALL rose anemones, in some tanks, the tenacles will be bubbles and in others they will be long as shown above; folks who say they have a rose that always has bubble tips in every tank are either ignorant or lying because such an anemone doesn't exist. Generally rose anemones have long tenacles in well established tanks, except for a short time immediately after introduction or splitting.

I ship in a heat-sealed heavy grade bag, so there is no chance of leaks. The shipping cost is variable but usually around $25-$40 for FedEx overnight to most of the US, costing more the further east you live. For payment I like paypal best but can work something else out if you don't want to set up an account. Please PM me if interested.</tr></td></table>

now when you say that a RBTA that stays bubbled all of the time doesn't exist, do you mean BTA in general or just RBTA?

ReefDream
06/16/2004, 02:16 AM
I mean a RBTA. I have seen many varieties but not one stayed bubbled tipped in my tank. It's a big ocean, and I'm betting there might be one but I haven't seen it.

Are they still for sale? if so will you please send me a pic to mdiddy7s@hotmail.com
I would be interested in a medium sized one. I would definitely do it for $65 shipped.
I do have paypal. Do the rose anemones do well under MH lighting? When would this be possible?

There are still 8 rose anemones for sale. The picture of them is above. I guarantee live arrival and total satisfaction.

Rose anemones do well under metal halide, power compact, or VHO setups. Despite their reputation as being difficult--and indeed many other types of anemones may be hard to keep--my extensive experience with rose anemones shows them to be among the most hardy of marine animals one can keep in my experience, much more hardy that most fish or other soft coral.

I purchased a small RBTA from "Reefdreamer" last week. It was very professionally packaged arriving in excellent condition. The color of this
rose was absolutely briilliant.... if you are thinking of purchasing please
don't hesitate! Great roses at a very fair price. Dennis (fish2223)

By the way, I can ship to in-California folks just USPS and things will be fine. That is only about $6. I got about 7 left now.

Picked up a rose from reefdream yesterday. It's a screamer. It's color makes every thing else in the tank look drab. I'm thinking about getting a second one as the wife didn't kill me as I walked in with yet another plastic bag full of water.

I'm glad folks like them. I do too, but it's time to shut down the anemone tank. Back in the day when these babbies sold for $120 a piece, I could make some money on them. Now at $40 a pop, they won't pay the lighting bill and aren't worth the space they take in my tiny apartment, so I'm selling all but a couple for myself (no main tank is complete without one I say).

What is the largest size you have left!

ReefDream
06/22/2004, 07:35 PM
Most of these anemones are about the same size, 4" base. They can easily grow to a foot in diameter in a single year if you feed them every other day. Believe me, size is NEVER an issue with these. If you feed them, they will grow to any arbitrary size you have in mind given room to grow (and sometimes they "make" their own room). The fastest growing are the white-footed ones.

Ok, folks, this is NOT a business here, and I only have about 8 left (did a recount and found some hidden ones). I am getting tired of typing the same stuff, so let's just set the shipping for those left:

FedEx overnight shipping is 35 for the east coast, 30 for the midwest, and 25 for the west coast. If you want to go USPS, it's $6 but it can take a couple days; GENERALLY, the anemone will be fine for a couple days since it is shipped in pure oxygen. I cannot make promises, though. Overnight shipment is guaranteed no DOA (your full money back if I don't have another). The ones left are about 4" in diameter at the base when fully expanded.

When I run out, I'll post so here.

If you are interested, you can e-mail me.

Al G Blenny - you gave me a small RBTA clone a few months back, remember? Was it an offspring of Reefdream's by any chance?

It has at least doubled in size, has maintained the beautiful bright color, and recently developed bubbles on a few tentacles since it moved directly under a 250W DE MH 10K bulb.

How much for local pick-up?

ReefDream
06/26/2004, 12:13 AM
The anemones cost $40. That's the charge for pick up, and I like local pick up much better than shipping out. I am not a store, so I am not charging extra to make something off shipping like every vendor does. Leave me a PM if you want one.

Hay Jim, yes that was an offspring from one of Rogers RBTAs. I'm glad to hear that it's doing good. You should see the size of the original one I got from him. It's HUGE!

Biology 101.... A Rose Bubble Tip is the same exact creature as a Bubble tip just a different color. There aren't any behavioral differences they are the same. The only difference is that people who sell Rose Bubble Tips want you to think they are exotic so that you will pay more. If you check the web they can now be had for $25 basically they have recently become more common than Green BTAs . DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE . They sure are purdy though

Stooge,

Do you like to hijack other people's threads?? This guy is trying to sell off some extra anemones at a DAMN GOOD PRICE, if you can proove to me that there are cheaper, educate me. Otherwise go away!!

stooge
06/28/2004, 07:04 PM
Tsk Tsk , Did I touch a nerve ? I did not hijack a thread . I was responding to a misconception that Reefdream ( we'll say inadvertently ) passed along which was picked up by or caused confusion to Dwarfatize . Reefdream keeps refering to his Roses as if they are a seperate species from all other variations of Bubbletip Anenomes . They are not. Color does not effect behavior. All I can surmise from your reaction is your either upset to find out that your Rose is just a Bubble Tip or you are sticking up for your buddy in which case let him speak for himself. So take a pill and have a glass of wine. relax.....Oh by the way I'm going away now.

ReefDream

stooge, unique species or not, this color morph was being sold for over $100 last year by every major vendor out there. This was due to the fact the color was rarely collected. Even today reputable vendors, often sell them for a lot more than $40. Marine Depot sells them for $90 right now. If you found them cheaper, that's cool. Buy from that guy. There was a guy on Ebay selling them cheaper, but then again, his shipping is $55 (about twice what it should cost for overnight). Inflated shipping is the oldest trick in the book, and it's so silly really.

I guess one good thing is that I can promise you that the real reef was NOT torn up to collect these since they formed in my tank, and these are very used to tank conditions. To some folks that means something. To others it doesn't. Personally, I wish I could buy only propagated stuff since reef collection is a corrupt business full of pure death (50% or greater of the stuff dies on the way to the store). Unfortunately, captive propagated anything is rare, and half the time, those who make the claim are lying.

Reefdream , You and Morandiwine are missing my point . My goal was not to come down on your pricing , your right to sell your Anenomes, nor dissuade people from buying from you . More power to you. It's just people don't refer to rose color morphs as Bubble Tip Anenomes but rather as something far superior almost with an elitist attitude " My Rose Bubble Tip Anenome " It's this false sense of importance related to Roses that causes people to pay way to much for an anenome that unlike a year ago has now flooded the market to the detriment of other color morphs. My original post was to clear up Dwarfatize's thinking that different colors morphs are different sub species from one another and require different care which is not true. As for your selling BTAs for $40 as a pickup item, if I lived near you I'd pick one up myself

This is the beauty of the internet, people can argue over the dumbest things. And it never ceases to amaze me the countless "know it all" people who have to inject what they think is correct or tell someone that they are wrong. It is true that RBTA is indeed a bubble tip anemone! OH MY GOSH!!!!! But it would be just an ordinary bubble tip anemone if the word ROSE was not infront of it and the fact that it is......drum roll please.....actually ROSE color! Stop the presses, I cant believe it.

My orginal post was to point out that you seemed to be hijacking ReefDreams post by saying that he is over priced. BTW I dont know him.

Getting back to the guts of this thread. ReefDream, good luck selling your anemones, it is a great price. The store that I work at is selling them for a bit more than you right now, so it IS a steal.

Good luck,

tyler

I think that stooge can't afford a rbta so he has to harp on people that like them. How can you use the term elitist about someone that has a rbta rather than a bta? You must be a very angry person. I'll bet you are jelous of everyone that has something better than you. Don't you have anything better to do than annoy other people. I personally think that you should apologise to Reefdream. You may say that you were only trying to point out that rbta's are the same species as regular bta's but the way you went about it was all wrong. You said that your point was not to dissuade people from buying from Rodger but you saying "don't belive the hype" and "If you check the web they can now be had for $25 basically" is doing just that.

P.S. what happened to the "Oh by the way I'm going away now"?

Al G Blenny
06/29/2004, 02:53 AM
P.P.S Why don't you shut up, go away, and wish that you had one of Rodger's wonderfull ROSE bta's

hey, guys, I have to thank you, stooge, for starting your discussion. It has almost sold me out of roses since we keep popping the thread up for each reply! Cool. Now I know how Michael Moore must feel when the right keeps trying to bring down his 911 movie. ha!

Anyway, ItsMoney, I do have a tiny one for you. It's the size of my index finger from the last joint to the tip of my finger, but it's healthy. I'll sell for $20. Just stop by, take a look at it, and pick it up if you like it.

I think I'm down to two left besides the tiny one...

ReefDream,

Thanks for the great RTBA! Got here yesterday. Is still finding the sweet spot, but fun to watch. The coloration is amazing, have not seen ANY in the Sacramento area with this kind of coloring for less than maybe $75 or so. I have been looking. Thanks a ton for the great deal on something I have wanted for my tank for awhile now. Sorry all the haters are downing on ya. Their loss and your gain.

Thanks,
Arron
