Hello Dr. Farley.

I have read your article "Solving Calcium and Alkalinity Problems".

In the correciĆ³n of the zone 3 you say:

"I'd suggest using this handy online calculator to determines how much dry calcium chloride"

I understand that the calcium chloride should be added directly to the sump without dissolving and I imagine that in small quantities until reaching the wanted value.

Is it correct?.

Do I must to use in the same way the Baking Soda and the Washing Soda for the corrections of the zone 4?

That's to say, dry and directly in the sump?.

Thank you.

I would dissolve all of those additives in some fresh water before adding them.

I should have made that clearer in the article. :(

Non problem, Dr. Farley. Thank you for your answer.

I am trying to translate your articles to Spanish, in this way I find easier to consult them when I need. I only wanted to clarify this topic so that the translation was correct.

Thanks to your forum I'm learning every day more on the chemistry in the aquarium and thanks to give us the opportunity to learn so much about all this topics.
