Every year the same pair of Canada geese nest near my yard. Once the goslings hatch, the parents bring the whole brood over to the dock for bread crumbs.

This year's goose family showed up again this weekend, and I took a couple of photos of the protective parents and the downy babies.

My uncle used to feed the geese every year off of our dock in northern wisconsin. Then when hunting season came around he would toss some bread in the water and then shoot as many as he could. Good times.... Good times.....

Maybe you should do the same and post some after pictures. Just an idea.

Man I hate Canadian Geese!!! They crap all over the golf courses! The hunting season for them should be much longer, they are like pigeons. Those are nice pictures though.

Geese are migratory birds. Untill treatened they will keep returning to the same place year after year.

They don't always migrate, though in Joey's neck of the woods I expect they do. In our area we have resident birds but our winter weather is not as harsh as way up yonder. But like cypres said they will return sometimes even when threatened.

By the way nice pics.

The male sometimes follows my wife around the yard in circles as she mows the lawn. We haven't quite figured out what is going on with that.

Looking for bugs and such exposed by the mower. Solid money on it being the same pair.

Try feeding them cracked corn. I sell tons of the stuff to people feeding the geese and the ducks North of you in Canada

You can be cracked corn from most ag supply stores in 50 lb bags for about $10. You could also try getting it a farm seed processing plant.
