Drs. Foster and Smith are selling some "uncured" caribbean live rock 60# for $125. Actually it is etropicals.com, a subsidary of Drs. But I am wondering how to prepare this rock for curing. I was going to put it in a large tupperware bucket, with a powerhead and 40 watt light. But uncured means that the mantis shrimp fireworms ect. are still on board. Would a freshwater dip suffice?

I started my aquarium with uncured wild rock about 9 years ago. I just put it in my aquarium and cycled it there. I wouldn't dip it, myself.

My tan is already established. WHat can I do to get rid of the unwanted pests during the curing

I don't know as I've not tried to do that. I'd suggest posting in the main forum to see if anyone has ideas.
