Hi Dr. Ron,

I see this guy periodically in the tank and don't remember buying anyone who looks like this.

What do you think, emperor??? Thumbs up? or Thumbss down?

Hi,

It is an individual in one of the almost innumerable species of whelks. It is almost certainly not reef-aquarium safe, it probably would prey on snails, worms, or clams.

Ah! Now I know why I keep finding limpet shells that have been picked clean around the tank.

I don't see him often, but I'll pluck him the next time I do.
