hi all have just noticed my ph is low because i just brought an electronic tester and it is at about 8.06
i did want to get some crabs but if i add the buffer powder do i have to wait another few days before i can get them
all help greatly appreciated

You can get your crabs as soon as you adjust your PH. I would also be concerned about putting the crab through a big salinity change.

it was not right the first ime i have checked my ph and it is actually fine.
what do you mean by a big salinity change surely the lfs should be close to mine

When did you test your pH?
If you tested it first thing in the morning and it was 8.06, test it again right before lights out and see if it isn't closeer to 8.2 or 8.3
That's about where you want it...
Even if you tested it in the evening at 8.06 and it only drops to 7.8 in the morning, that's still not an emergency.

well i tested in the morning and it was 8.17 - 8.18 so i am guessing after lights it should be about spot on

Plants (algae) use CO2 to photosynthesize. CO2 is acidic and drops your pH when the lights are out and plants stop using CO2.
As soon as the lights come on, photosynthesis starts and your pH starts to climb....
