Hi there,

I was refered to here to ask to ID the slugs i've seen around my tank (3 so far of the same kind), and I would really like to know what they are so I can know if they are alright in my tank or not.

Anyhows, heres the clearest pics which btw is on their bottom, but I managed to take a few from the top whilst they were both on a top corner of the tank.

Pics (also one as an attachement):

Doc Ron is gone for a bit, but I have a couple of questions. How long have you had the nudis, and what did you add to your tank just before the nudis appreared?

Nudibranchs are predatory - it's just up to you to figure out what your species eats. One of the easiest ways is to look at the nudi and figure out what in your tank it looks most like, or would blend best with - often a coral.

Based upon coloration only, I'm wondering if they didn't show up as the same time as your leather?

You might check out the Juvenile Phyllodesmium longicirra pictures partway down this page: http://www.seaslugforum.net/phyllong.htm#m11902

Hello Anemone,

If only seen them appear since i've added some live rock with the past 4-5 days. They keep hanging around the glass and often just move around the glass.

They look very very similar to Juvenile Phyllodesmium longicirra. It might be that. At the moment they are about 1-2 grains in size, very small still. I've found about 2 different types of slugs as well. One quite colourful and the other was to small still.

The live rock that i've added is fiji and tonga.

Thanks for the help anemone :bum:, I just hope to find out what they are and if I should indeed have them in my tank.

Hi,

Few nudibranchs 1)can be kept for any length of time and 2) are reef safe.

The images are far too small for any identification, however. I need images that show detail of the animals. :D
