Hi there

Can anyone one tell me more about taking care of
coral? I know its a broad question.
But I've just been given a lillac coloured leather finger
and I've never had coral before, can anyone
point me in the right direction ?

regards
Jason

The finger leathers are fairly easy to keep. Can you give us some more info - Ca, ammonia, Alk, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, lighting (type and photo period)? This will help us give you some pointers.

FWIW I've kept my finger leather under 440 W of VHO as well as 250W of MH (changed my lighting). It's been at the bottom of the tank (right now) and part way up without an issue. Mine seems to like med flow best. It will go grey and not inflate for anywhere from couple of hours to 3 to 4 days. Then when it inflates you can see a skin (covering of some kind) coming off. You need enough current to remove this. I don't feed it anything special - just what goes into the tank - blender mush, flakes, phyto, etc.
