When to expect mating ?

I have a dominant 1.75 inch Tomato clown and a 1 inch submissive Tomato together happily for about 6 months now. They've been doing the 'shutter dance' ever since I introduced the smaller one at 3/4 inch size. When could/should I expect an egg laying episode?

you can never know. dont wait around for it to happen, sometimes pairs will spawn in a few months, others take years. it just depends on the clownfish. best of luck to you and your clowns.

Never expect anything. Don't count your clownfish before they've morphed.

I agree with all the others, but just a data point for you, we paired up some tomatoes and they started spawning in 7 months.
