Might be a dumb question but is it possible? just got my RBTA 2 days ago and my emerald crab is always hanging out right next to it if he's not eating.... like this pic:

It's kinda cool I guess but 1. I'd much rather my newly aquired clowns host it and I don't think the emerald crab being there helps and 2. I saw the crab walking all over the RBTA's body earlier and I'm afraid his sharp legs could damage/puncture the RBTA?

Thanks....

Hi,

Lots of crabs are symbiotic with anemones, I have never heard of it with Mithrax, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Don't worry about the crab's toes damaging the anemone, it won't happen.

The clownfish will be upset and may have some serious interactions with the crab, however. If it was my Premnas, she would kill the crab.

On a slightly related note, my emerald crab like to host in my elegance coral. It has snuggled up underneith the coral for the past two months with no ill effect to the elegance.
