Hey there. I recently picked this up under the guise of a Finger Leather. I recently purchased your book and after reviewing it, im not so sure it is a finger leather.

Ive had this in my tank for a little more than a week.

It's skin is stiff and feels very course

It contracts at night and deflates a bit.

Its polyps are not contained throughout the colony. They mainly appear on the branches that come off the main stalk. They contract completely if irritated.

It seems to have budded, dropping off a piece from the base. There are scelerits visible from where it budded. They look thin and needle like.

Not sure if this helps but It did shed very similar to my yellow leater.

Some of the colonies share the same "foot" or base where the main stalk attaches itself to the rock. Some do not share the same base appear solitary.

Here is a pic

Hopefully this is enough info, despite the quality of the pic, to get a good id.

Thank you for taking the time to help.

I made sure to read the directions and provide as much input as I could.

After reviewing your book I wasnt too sure what to ID this as. I was beginning to fear it was from the Genus Nepthea whose level of care I could not possibly meet.

Of the Genus Sinularia, im leaning towards possibly S. Notanda.
