Dr. Ron -

The Florida LS that I have ordered in the past from Gulf View was coarse and had a much larger particle size than the 0 -0. 300 sand that I am using for the bed.

Would you recommend layering it (1 cm at a time) on the top of my very find sand to seed the bed?

Thank you.

as long as you don't have to many predators of
sand bed life, a few pounds should be all you need
to kick start your SB. too much coarse/jagged material
& you may actually harm a few of your SB critters. (IMO ;) )

Hi S-G.,

I would put it on top of the bed, but in a layer no more than 1 cm in thickness, and after a few days I would remove any large pieces that I could. Large amounts of coarse sediments can really destroy a sand bed.
