VERY !!! as the bulbs are a 360degree bulb there is nothing to reflect the light where you want it. The light increase is close to 100% better with the reflectorr than without. I have 4 t-5s on my 55 and tried just to see if i needed to spend the extra cash and YEP i did

Yes- the reflector is everything on this one.
I went with the Sunlight Supply 8 x 54w Tek Light and couldn't be happier.
