Life is kinda funny. Ha Ha. I decided to submit a comment to Aquafx after reading the comments here at reef central (having ordered the barracuda unit myself on sept. 11). It is interesting that after submitting my comment and pushing the 'back' button on my browser a pop up window popped up stating that the URL "Aquafx.com" is for sale. Maybe this is an indication of something going on in the background with this company. Maybe not, but how can one explain the above? Any thoughts?

so now I can't even log on to aquafx.com. The pop up window stating that its domain URL is for sale is all that comes up even if I run a search for it in google. Who wants to buy a product from a business that apparently is going out of business? Especially when they knew it and were hap hap happy to take my credit card payment on 9/11/2001. Well, no problem there. If I don't here from them in 24 hours-click goes the credit card.

OK. I called AMEX. I explained that I ordered a product from a cmpany that other people were having a problem with and that I could no longer contact either by phone or URL or email and that I did not really want to buy a product from a company I could not contact no matter what even if the product was intact on arrival. Fine. No problem. We will just note that you have a dispute and you "do not have to accept a product under these circumstances if you do not want to" So there you have it. Do the same and let me know what happens. I'll do the same. Let's keep each other informed. I'm not happy that this company is (may be) going out of business. I do not wish hard times on anyone. I wish I couls help. But I do not want ot be stuck with a product at least two other 'aquarists' are having a problem with; one right out of the box. I don't have the expertise, and surely not the time to deal with those kind of problems. I apologize for the wordiness, but those who have had a problem may benefit.

You see everything is fine relax now, and dont worry they make great products, I have their baracuda 4stage for almost a year now with no filter changes and the ppm read 0 from my water tests , and Brian is more than helpufull, their customer service is outstanding, cya.

I appreciate all the feedback. What I explained is what happened but somehow I managed to shove my foot way in my mouth. the URL for aquafx IS www.aquariumwaterfilters.com. My mistake. My apology to all. I think I'll sit on this a while and see what develops. It's good to read encouraging posts about aquafx.

I purchased a 100gpd Baracuda from them.At first, seemed like it was about to turn into a major cluster #$^& as it was about the time they were going through their problems.Spoke to them several times and they made good on what I said was sold to me.Set up the unit and it works great.
Great people to do business with.:smokin:
