he's blowing smoke out of his top...... turning my water blue-green. i just did a water change, and a real good cleaning on the tank... now he's doing this..... is it sexual, there appear to be white strands growing out of his top like the feelers come out, but then they look almost as if they sizzle off and smoke away....

the water is actually more of a milky white than blue green, that b/g color was from the algea scrub i think..... should i do another WC or is that what pist him off in the first place?

visibility is roughly only 2'.... can you see the clown on the far side of my 29?.... this is bad.....i can feel it....

i might add after my water change i noted to myself how little the water smelled, now she smells like a wet dog...

I believe its spawning. Either because of stress or you got the parameters right. Is there another one in there?

it's SPERM !

My snails are doing it like crazy also, must be spring or something...

Nothing to worry about, the skimmer will remove it.

i just removed the skimmer to make repairs.. out of comission for atleast another day... he must have been holdin that load for a while, will it only work if introduced to another of the same species, or can you mix breed them?

I'm pretty sure they won't crossbreed with different species, it would be like a clown fish impregnating a tang.

i'd pay top $ for an orange tang with 3 white stripes.... very cool he tried to spawn, must have liked my cologne :D guess i'm off for another bucket of water... what you think, 5 gals? it has cleared up a bit....

so i do another 5 gal change just now, and look at this guy now.... it's one after another. my toothy brain, that was recovering nicely from a tank crash 4+ months ago, is going slime on me.... i hope my water source has not gone bad

yeah i'd try and get your skimmer running ASAP - that will do much more work than a water change in this scenario

cheapo quick fix to the skimmer, all is running, i guess i'll pick the micro bubbles in tank over a bunch of loose sperm running free....
i'm off to the bar, we'll see if all is well when i return, or if not you can find this tank in the "forsale" forum tomorrow....

wow... skimmer pulled out alot lastnight, water is clearer than it has been in a while(except for bubbles). never in my life thought i'd see a sea urchin getting off... wait till i tell my friends about the live show :D
guess i'll keep this tank a little while longer.
thanks again for the help
