May 24 Gathering

Just a reminder of the gathering on May 24 at Northeast Labs in Winslow... Mostly it may be to meet Chris and his wife. Since we had a meeting on May 3rd, I am not sure how many can or will make it on the 24th, but I for one will be there! Chris, if you need directions, call me at 215-6989 and I will get you there! Do not forget I will be in Mexico the 15th to the 22nd, so call before or after that!

I do have some over head slides that we can always look at... there are several good subjects we can choose from.


I will have a couple of good size bunches of spaghetti algae for anyone who wants it. This is a good macro algae to have around, it stays pretty much in a ball, looks kinda wirey but mine has grown like crazy! Sucks up the excess nutrients and is a good refuge for bugs!

Just to entice more of you to turn up and meet Chris, I have a door prize donated by Per Quarters in Augusta!!!

Just spent the last few days unpacking and glazing over at night while i was trying to read my emails. Im looking forward to the meeting on the 24th.

I wont have any pics of my tank since i ran into a bunch of problems on the move. now i am waiting for my tank to re-cycle so i can get my corals shipped up. Couldnt believe my eyes when i saw that Instant Ocean was $75 for the bucket at The Kennel Shop in Augusta, used to seeing it for 35-45

On a side note, since i need to re-establish my sand bed, can a couple people bring a small scoop of their sand to the meeting on the 24th? I need a small jumpstart for mine. it would be greatly appreciated

Hey Denise, I finally got on here. This forum/thread/reply is all new to me. Someone let me know if this works.

I bought salt from the Kennel shop a few weeks ago. I received a VIP coupon in the mail for 20% off and bought a bucket of salt. In the past, I mail order it. It is cheaper even with the extra shipping than buying it locally.

I'm making progress on the 125g. Almost ready to add a fish, but still have to assemble the sump. My Florida rock is doing well.
