suppliments and flow control

i was puting the iron, phytoplex, iodine,strontium/molybdenum while my flow and sump was running. now i turn the sump off for 10 min then on again. my ? is what is the right way?

I put everything in while the system is running. I suppose one can dose as one wishes, I do not know of anything that requires you to shut down the flow to add.
