I' have a 5' Custom Sea Life hood with 4 power compacts in it. I believe they're 96 watt bulbs.

Is it possible to convert this setup to use T5's? If so, what would I need to do?

Thanks

probably. It's most likely a WH ballast, relabelled inside the hood. You'd need to figure out which model ballast and the wiring schemes are on fulham's site. Then you need endcaps, bulbs and reflectors.

The hood already has a polished aluminum reflector in it.

The ballasts are external. They are in long black enclosures and only have a Custom Sea Life label on them. They say it's rated for 174 watts (2 96 watt lamps).

There's no point switching to T5s if you aren't gonna sport for the individual reflectors--that's where the "advantage" lays. If you don't want to sport for the individual reflectors leave your setup alone. the black enclosure, if you open it, will be either a single workhorse 7 or two workhorse 5s. If you have 2 switches it's two 5s, if you have 1 switch it's the 7.
