uv sterilized water

hey all,
my girlfriend works at a restaurant with a UV sterilizer. The owner would let us take water for our tank... I want to know if it is good water, or should I just stick with RO?

UV won't take out things, just kill them . . . IMO stick with RO or better yet RO/DI.

I knew the UV was put in to keep people from worrying about the water, but I guess it's not good enough for aquariums... Just think of all that money I would have saved though....:(
