what kind of crab is this? Unlike the other emeralds and porcelain ones it's almost completely flat, horizonal to the ground, has a green stripe on it's face, yellow banding on it's legs.

Here's a pic:

It's Sally (sally lightfoot).

but it looks nothing like this:

it's like 100% flat from had to toe.

or is that a pic of a different kind of sally?

See, if you click the second link under that pic (nice, BTW), you will see many crabs that are called Sally, yours is one that is common in aquarium trade. I saw yours in the second page, 10 a.jpg.

I did a quick search and found this one. It looks a like bit more like it. I don't know. I didn't think it was a sally at first, but I guess there are probobly a lot of different ones.

Their size/shape/color can vary a little bit...here's an example of one that looks a lot like yours:

yep, that's her alright! thanks guys, any feeding/caring tips you can drop here would be appreciated, since I don't have fish all she has are live rocks to chew on, and I drop some Kent Marine Micro vert in a couple times a week for all the little fanworms.

Did a little bit more research on it and its specific scientific name is a Percnon planissimum (search for that and you should find some decent info)....it eats algae and detritus but will attack small fish while they're sleeping if they're really hungry. Its reef-safe.

cool, he's definately a pretty passive crab, especially compared to my porcelain, I was told the porcelain was timid, but it seems to lash out at anything that comes to close,w here the other crabs let the hermits and slugs snuggle up to em.
