View Full Version : what do i do about algae growing over some zoo's?

hi all,
i got a couple pieces of LR that have some zoo's growing on them. one rock has algae growing next to and on top of a small zoo colony. what do i do?

If you can, blow it off with a turkey baster or gently brush it off with an old toothbrush. They should re-open after a little while then. Mine do.

thanx, reefy, i'll give that a try. sure hope my wife doesn't mind me using HER toothbrush. ;)

get a new one for the tank so you don't kill stuff

Or clean it very good. Mine are used but I cleaned them well and they've never been a problem.

Or you can use a cotton swab and gently rub the algae off!
