Hey,

I got a used IceCap 430. Gunna hook up two 4' bulbs for my 66 gallon tank.

So what bulbs should I put in there? 1 Daylight type one and 1 of those blue ones? Also what brands? are some better then others? Let me know what you think. I need specifics though. like 10k? or 20K? (i don't really know what those numbers mean)

THANKS!! :)

Hi Cyntax,
URI bulbs are the best, IME and IMHO.
For a two bulb setup, I like either two 50/50's or one 50/50 and one Actinic 03. Matter of color choice. Using the 03 will give you a bit more blue and accentuate fluorescent coral colors.
Please see this for more bulb info:

Why not go with three 4' URI bulbs? Maximize the usage of the Icecap ballast. :D

I second Emperator,
I would use two 50/50s and one actinic or,
one daylight,one 50/50 and one actinic .

Won't this end up being just about the same thing as using three 50/50s?
