Does anyone know if running 14K MH for a longer period of time can make up for the lack of intensity that a 10K MH has.
Example

Will 14K for 6hrs = 10K for 2hrs ?

I don't think it works that way. The K value is supposed to reference the spectrum put out, not the intensity. See here:

no a longer photo period will not make up for the slightly lower par. but keep in mine most people say a 14k and a 10 k are darn close. not enough to worry about, if its that big of an issue add another light or go to double ended bulbs.

now 10k to 20k is a bigger drop in par, less intensity for some reasion that i forgot. if you are worried about it go with the 14k bulbs in DE (double ended ) and they will put out the same light if not more than a 10k se(intensity wise due to the DE's having a better reflector).
