URI internal reflectors

Do the URI internal reflectors really make a noticable difference? URI also makes an Aqua-D series that doesn't have the internal reflectors. I already have a reflector retrofitted onto my canopy. Will I get better light output with the Aqua-D, or the original ones with the internal reflector? Thanks.

I'm in the same boat as you, punikin. I just installed 4-72" VHO's w/ the internal reflectors, and also have the reef fanatic aluminum reflectors to leave my options open in the future if i want to try my hand at overdriving some NO bulbs.

Has anyone tested the lumen output from the internal vs. external reflectors?

IMO - yes they do. Without the built-in reflector you would need to install one.

Even with the hood reflector, personally, I would still get the bulbs with internal reflectors.
