OK-sorry just 'another stupid newbie question' (but that's what this board if for-right?)

So I set up a 'fuge under my tank, say its around 60- gal.-I am looking at about a 600 gph return pump (adjusted for head loss). How can this leave enough time for pods to grow in the fuge? Seems to me there would be such a fast turnover that reproduction of pods couldn't occur.

Can somebody explain to me how this works?

Your fuge is 60 gallons or your main tanks?

You probably want a lower turnover rate than 10 times per hour in a fuge. Or at least I have a lower turnover rate in mine.

Put in pod piles. Small pieces of LR in piles for them to hide and grow in. Putting them in the slowest flow area also will help.

I am planning on a fuge of around 60 gal. I want to go as large as I can fit under my main tank.

What would be optimum turnover in your fuge?

I keep mine at about 4-5 times an hour.

But if you wanted even 600gph doesnt seem like too much for the pods. As long as its planted there will be plenty of cover for them to get out of the current.

I went out and bought some fluval sponge filters and put them into my Sump under the rocks. They've been there for maybe 2 weeks and they're already filling up with pods.
