Hi I have a 75g tank switching from FO to reef
I was wondering while I am waiting for the extra LR (4 chunks about 30lb) is curring (been 2 weeks so far), if I could add some hatched brine shrimp?

1) would they grow in the tank?

[I do have some pods , If I take a minute I will see 3-5 if I search hard at night. I would guess pods would eat smaller brine shrimp to extinction in a closed environment, is that true?]

oh right, my point is would the brin shrimp eventually breed and establish in the aquarium?

Most commercial brine shrimp are actually either fresh water species or Low salinity species therefore wouldn't survive in a reef tank. Also as far as I know most pods live of phyto aside from scavenging so adding a little phyto might help to establish a pod population.

Yeah, they'll need phyto or they'll starve. And your powerheads will likely kill them as well. I feed live brine to my tank and they always die. Or get eaten, lol. Usually both.
