Carpet health Q: Not sure if I should buy?

I have been eyeing a nice big purple saddle carpet at my LFS. The anemone looks great (no deflating/inflating, tight mouth), but I am told that it has been moving around alot while it has been there and won't stay still. Does this mean that it won't do well and will probably die? Should I buy it? I have a green carpet and it has never moved once since I put it in the tank 1 year ago.

I assume you're talking about a Haddoni carpet. Maybe it's moving around because they don't have it in optimal conditions. Is it under halides?

I would have them feed it for you. And probably put the food on the outer rim to see if it's sticky and it can bring the food in. Make sure it's a nice rich purple and not bleached. If all this checks out, buy it before it has to sit in their tank any longer.
