Found a 45g DAS tank for sale with sand and 10lb of rock, some cleanin crew, and 2 NO light strips. (hood and stand too)

Guy wants 200 for it, but i keep seeing 75 and 90 going for 300, is the tank & stand worth it, i cant find anywhere that sales them, so i have no idea what the going price is.
PLZ HELP

It all depends on the tank quality, and what is included. My 75 gal Marineland tank with a single light strip adn stand was $300. You may find a 90 gal with the same.

Sand, and 10 lbs of rock. Most likely "dead" correct. 10 lbs of live rock will cost around $70 alone. Is this 45 gal new or use?

I have found a low cost tank with "extras" are not always a good deal.

rock is still alive, things in tank now, it is used, and could use a little refinishing

Not bad depending on the condition of the tank, but still live rock (fiji) can go for anywhere from $7 a lb - $9 lb, and lighting itsleg can cost depending on how many strips, and the bulbs. I say it is not a bad price, based solely on what you have said.

Make sure to cure the rock.

seems a little on the high side to me. i bought my first 100g tank with all the accesseries and fish for $200. talked him down from 250. try making an offer for like 150 if he takes it cool, if not i would keep looking, a little patience and i think you can do better.

My lfs sells aquariums for $1 per gallon, so a 45 would cost 45.00.

Live rock can be found for as little as 2.00 per pound (Fiji), so that 10lb rock may add 20.00 to the package value.

The real question is the quality of the tank and stand? Hardwood stands can be expensive, while pine can be purchased cheep. Also, is the hood set up for salt water? It can be expensive to retrofit a fresh water hood for salt-water use; they often place the lamps too close to the water surface to use high power lighting.

Bottom line is that it's value may be in the stand and canopy, not the aquarium and rock. If it's not exactly what you're looking for it’s not a good deal.

$2 per pound, wow. Good Fiji. Where? $7 is the lowest I have found unless you buy it bulk, then $5 - 6, but you have to pay shiiping.

We're spoiled on the west coast....

Several local sources offer Fiji for less than 2.00 per pound if you go and pick up. The lfs offer it for 4.00 per pound, now if we didn't have to pay 2.25 for gasoline LOL

Check out
http://www.exoticfish.com/

Ultra" Premium Fiji Box $2.95/lb
Premium Fiji "Larger Pieces" $3.25/lb
Premium Fiji Branch $3.95/lb
Premium Fiji $2.45/lb

These prices reflect hand picking and do not include box quanity discounts.

Reefer Madness offers 45lbs for 145 shipped or 89.00 pick up.
